The future of Sonocent Audio Notetaker

What is the future of Sonocent Audio Notetaker?

We will continue to maintain Sonocent Audio Notetaker until August 2026 and will continue to offer support until August 2027 to allow a phased transition period, but there will be no ongoing development for Sonocent Audio Notetaker. We are encouraging users to transition to our new software Glean over the next few years.

What does maintenance of the product involve?

Maintenance means that we will work to resolve critical bugs that affect the operation and usability of the software on supported operating systems. If an update to the operating system causes Audio Notetaker to become unoperational, then we will work to resolve this within the software.

What is the difference between Sonocent Audio Notetaker and Glean?

Glean is our more modern, flexible and intuitive software. It is cloud based and can be accessed from any device, and recordings are accessible between your devices. You can learn more about Glean here or look at the frequently asked questions here: Glean FAQs.

Licenses and migration

I bought Sonocent Audio Notetaker online, what happens now?

You can continue to use Sonocent Audio Notetaker (so long as your Licence allows), and the product will be maintained and supported until August 2026 with ongoing support until 2027. However, you will no longer see improvements and updates to the product. We encourage you to try Glean which has been designed to solve the same challenges as Sonocent Audio Notetaker, but is much more flexible and easy to use and is in active development.

Can I still buy new licenses for Sonocent Audio Notetaker?

No, we are no longer selling Sonocent Audio Notetaker licenses.

How much does Glean cost?

Glean is based on a monthly subscription; you can pay monthly, or pay for 1 year in advance. You can find the pricing online here

Are there further costs for setup, training, cloud storage etc?

No, the Glean subscription cost covers everything.

Can Sonocent Audio Notetaker projects be transferred to Glean?

Glean is an all new cloud-based solution and as such stores information differently than Audio Notetaker. We are not planning to offer a migration of data from other note taking solutions such as Sonocent Audio Notetaker into Glean.
