Annotating Slides
You can annotate your slides with free hand drawings, shapes, arrows etc.
Important - Annotating Slides is currently in Feature Preview, allowing you to try out the feature while we add the final touches. To enable the feature please see here: https://help.glean.co/article/326-feature-preview
Once you have your slides posted into your Event you can annotate using the toolbar above your slides.
View Toolbar
The View toolbar allows you to simply view your slides, and any previous annotations.
- Left Panel - Allows you to scroll through your slide deck, and post new slides to your notes feed
- Zoom Settings - Use the controls to make your slides bigger or smaller on screen
- Pan (hand icon) - Moves the slide so you can view your annotations even at higher zoom levels
- Select - Pick one of your annotations so that you can adjust the colour or delete it
- Tab selector - switch between the View, Annotate and Shapes toolbars
Annotate Toolbar
Use the Annotate toolbar to highlight and underline text or to add your own text.
Switching to the Annotate tab opens up a new toolbar.
The first four options allow you to add to any text in your slide. Use option 5 and 6 if you want to annotate non-text elements.
- Highlight - adds a background highlight to any text
- Underline - adds underline to any text
- Strikethrough - adds strikethrough to any text
- Squiggly underline - add a squiggly line to any text
- Free Hand Line - adds a line anywhere on your slide
- Free Hand Highlight - adds a highlight anywhere on your slide
- Add Text - adds your own text to the slide
- Colour Palette - adjusts the colour used for your annotations
- Undo - undoes the last action, you can keep clicking to undo multiple edits
- Redo - redoes the last action you un-did.
- Eraser - allows you to delete your annotations
Shapes Toolbar
Use the Shapes toolbar to add shapes to your slides.
Switching to the Shapes tab opens up a new toolbar.
Info - Holding SHIFT while drawing some shapes gives you more control. With the ellipse tool you can draw perfect circles, and the line tools draw horizontal, vertical or 45 degree lines.
- Rectangle - click and drag to draw a rectangle
- Ellipse - click and drag to draw an ellipse (hold SHIFT to draw a circle)
- Arc - Click 3 times to draw an arc
- Polygon - click to draw multiple connected lines, then click near the start point to close the shape
- Cloud - click to draw multiple wavy lines, then click near the start point to close the cloud shape
- Line - click and drag to draw a single line
- Polyline - click to draw multiple connected lines (double click on the last one to finish)
- Arrow - Click and drag to draw an arrow
