Join a Zoom Meeting in a browser:

Zoom meetings are often set to launch using a desktop application (the 'Zoom desktop client') as default.

You can get round this by following the steps in > Web Browser.

The meeting organiser may have configured the session to default to use the Zoom desktop client. If this is the case:

  • When the prompt appears click 'Cancel':

  • A new option should be available which says: "If you cannot download or run the application, join from your browser."
  • Click join from your browser.

To get around this, simply:
  1. Do not click the join URL.
  2. Instead, copy the 9 digit Meeting ID (or 'Access Code') which will be in the format 111-222-333.
  3. Go to
  4. Enter the Meeting ID, then click the arrow key.
