Make an Existing User an Admin

Want to give an existing user Admin power? ⚡

You can assign the admin role to existing users, so they can help manage your Glean account.
N.B. Users who are assigned the "Admin" role continue to occupy a seat of your Glean Plan.

Admins occupy seats on your Glean plan
E.g. If you have a 100 seat subscription and 5 admins, you'll have 95 seats available to assign to users.

How to assign an admin role to an existing user:

Click on the Additional Options menu (the three dots in the Actions column, to the left of the user's name).

Select Edit User:

Select the Admin role from the Select Role (Optional) dropdown:

Click Save Changes.
  • An email is sent to the user, notifying them that they have been made an Admin of your Glean account.
  • They will now be able to log in to Glean Admin with their existing Glean login details.
  • A blue "Admin" badge will be displayed next to the user's name.
Not seeing the 'Edit User' option?

Check the user's Status. A user must complete sign up before you are able to edit their role.
If the user's Status is 'Invited' or 'Invite Expired', just withdrawn the invite and then follow these steps to invite them as an Admin.
